R2 Inc. announces today that it has successfully completed the installation of the SIL2 rated EMOS® Safety System for electrochemical process monitoring of membrane technology electrolysers at the ERCO Worldwide expansion at Port Edwards Facility in Wisconsin, USA.
EMOS®’s high fidelity cell voltage data acquisition system combined with its advanced engineering and data analysis tools are providing ERCO Worldwide unparalleled visibility and reliability for electrolyser process safety. Beyond the safety functions, EMOS® is providing advanced electrolyser condition monitoring for qualitative insight into the operational performance of critical components, resulting in a precise, proactive approach to electrolyser maintenance and scheduling.
R2’s EMOS® SIL2 Safety System, is the only electrolyser safety system available with a SIL2 rating. While monitoring over 60, 000 elements in plants around the world, R2 was able to conduct an extensive Hazop Study. This study concluded that in order to provide complete electrolyser protection with a very low possibility of failure, SIL2 is necessary. The EMOS SIL2 Safety System includes everything required to provide a plant with the highest level of safety available on the market.
