R2 Successfully Completes EMOS® SIL2 Installations at Coogee Chemicals
R2 announces today it has successfully completed the installation of the SIL2 rated EMOS® (Electrolyser Maintenance Optimization and Safety) Safety System at two Coogee Chemicals locations: the Elite Chemicals chlor alkali facility at the port of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia and the Kwinana Chlor Alkali chlor alkali facility in the Kwinana Industrial Area, Western Australia, Australia.
Combining high fidelity cell voltage data acquisition alongside advanced engineering and data analysis tools, EMOS® provides Coogee Chemicals unrivaled information transparency and dependability for monitoring of electrolyser processes. In addition to the basic alarm and safety functions, Coogee Chemicals will benefit from advanced electrolyser condition monitoring for qualitative insight into the operational performance of critical components. This results in a more analytical and prepared procedure for planning electrolyser maintenance.
Coogee Chemicals is a diversified manufacturer of chemicals and Western Australia’s largest fuel terminal. Established in Kwinana in 1971 as a copper sulphate plant, the privately owned company is now present in a number of states, and has joint ventures within Australia and Internationally.
Coogee Chemicals is the sole owner of two chlor alkali plants within WA, and acquired Elite Chemicals, Brisbane in 2012. The plants currently meet the local chlorine demands, while also producing and supplying caustic soda, hydrochloric acid and sodium hyprochlorite to water treatment, mining and industrial markets.
R2 specializes in the design, development, and implementation of intelligent systems geared at industrial safety process, predictive maintenance and process optimization.
